MPB Auto Repair

The Situation Before We Stepped In

When we first looked at this project, the website was a mess. It was slow, clunky, and built on a bloated platform stuffed with random plugins. The design didn’t inspire trust, the messaging was vague, and nothing set the business apart from the dozens of other shops in the area.

Even when our Google Ads partner ran campaigns, the results were disappointing — the conversion rate was awful. The issue wasn’t the ads, it was the site itself. Visitors simply weren’t convinced to call or book.

How We Approached the Redesign

We started by defining a clear brand idea. During competitor research, we noticed a shop more than 1,000 miles from Sacramento leaned heavily on a single value: honesty. After checking real customer reviews, the concept resonated. This shop’s own customers had the same expectations — they wanted transparency, no upselling, and no unnecessary repairs.

So we built the entire site’s copy and design around that theme of honesty. The voice, headlines, and calls-to-action all reinforced the promise of straightforward service.

Next, we restructured the website:

  • Built dedicated service pages for every main offering — engine repair, collision repair, oil change, AC recharge, and more.
  • Designed each page with a clear, consistent template that felt professional and trustworthy, not like a generic article landing page.
  • Focused on layout concepts that guided the user toward action. We tested everything — different CTAs, booking forms, and even an interactive calendar that let visitors choose exact dates and times (spoiler: simple forms worked better).

Optimization and SEO

Alongside the redesign, we optimized for local SEO by making sure every service page had unique, keyword-relevant content and clear internal linking. We also tested placement of phone numbers, headlines, and page elements through A/B testing to maximize conversions.

The Results

The transformation was dramatic:

  • Conversion rate jumped from 0.5% to nearly 10%.
  • Google Ads traffic that previously failed to convert now consistently delivered new customers.
  • The site earned dozens of strong keyword rankings, including “auto repair Rancho Cordova”, helping it show up in the local map pack.
  • Most importantly, the website became a real growth engine, generating calls and appointments every single day.

Key Takeaways

  • A clear brand idea is the foundation of good web design.
  • Well-structured service pages convert better than generic landing pages.
  • Design, copy, and SEO work together — but without trust-focused design, SEO and ads won’t pay off.
  • Continuous A/B testing is the fastest path from guesswork to measurable results.
